When I first began reading the Bible on a daily basis, I simply began at Genesis 1 and read two or three chapters a day.  Gradually, I made it to the book of Revelation, which took a lot of time.  I have always liked variety too, so while attending Bible school at Christ For the Nations I came up with a daily reading plan that has served me well from 1980 until now.  Using this pattern has helped me to receive revelation, direction, confirmation, and inspiration throughout the year.  Each day I start off with prayer and reading the Bible. It only takes about thirty minutes to do the reading, and with this method, you can successfully reads through the Bible three times a year!

This plan works bests if you use six bookmarks to hold your place and track your progress.

   Everyday read:

     2 chapters starting in Genesis

     1 chapter in Proverbs

     2 chapters starting in Ecclesiastes

     1 chapter starting in Matthew

     1 chapter starting in Romans

     2 chapters in Psalms
